What does professional management of a well-optimised Google Business Profile listing cost?

Price ranges by service, what is and isn't included, and how to judge whether the cost is justified by the results

The essentials

  • Initial optimisation: €300 to €900 excl. VAT for one listing (audit, categories, services, photos, description, NAP consistency).
  • Monthly management: €80 to €300 excl. VAT a month per listing depending on scope (posts, reviews, photos, tracking, reporting).
  • Multi-location: a tapering rate, generally €40 to €120 excl. VAT per listing per month from 10 listings, plus a centralised management tool.
  • The right criterion: the cost per enquiry generated (calls, directions, requests) rather than the headline price.

Enhanced measurement Google Business Profile listing is free, but keeping it alive takes time: responding to reviews, posting, updating photos and hours, watching for edits suggested by third parties, tracking rankings. Many businesses delegate. Here are the prices seen in France in 2026, what they cover, and how to judge the return.

Prices by type of service

ServiceUsual contentRange excl. VAT
Creating or claiming a listingCreation, verification, basic completion€150 to €400 (one-off)
Initial optimisationAudit, categories, services and products, description, attributes, 15 to 30 photos, NAP consistency on the main directories€300 to €900 (one-off)
"Essential" monthly managementResponding to reviews, 2 to 4 posts a month, updating hours, watching for edits€80 to €150 / month
"Complete" monthly managementEssential + review collection, monthly photos, grid rank tracking, reporting, questions and answers€150 to €300 / month
A network (10 listings or more)Centralised management, bulk publishing, response templates, consolidated reporting€40 to €120 / listing / month
A local SEO audit aloneA full diagnosis of the listing + citations + site + competitors, with an action plan€400 to €1,500
Training your teamsOne day, to bring management in-house€600 to €1,200 / day

Freelancers sit at the bottom of these ranges, specialist agencies at the top, generally with more tooling and reporting. Offers under €50 a month most often mean automated posting with no work on reviews or on data consistency.

What makes the price vary

  • The volume of reviews: a listing receiving 30 reviews a month takes more response time than one with 3. Some offers cap the number of responses included.
  • Review collection: setting up a process (QR code, SMS, email after the job) and following it up; it is the item that produces the most results and it is often an optional extra.
  • Rank tracking: a geographic grid tracking tool costs the supplier €20 to €100 a month; it is included in the complete offers. See tracking your position on Google Maps.
  • Citations: bringing directories into line is one-off work, sometimes billed separately (€100 to €400).
  • The number of listings: beyond 5, centralised management tools make the per-unit work cheaper; see multi-location local SEO.

What "optimised" management should include

To judge an offer, check for these seven elements: primary and secondary categories chosen after analysing competitors; detailed services and products with descriptions; a response to 100% of reviews within 7 days; at least one post a week; new photos every month; monitoring of edits suggested by third parties (Google applies some automatically); monthly reporting with the listing's metrics and the rankings. The detail of each point is in optimising your Google Business Profile.

Is the cost justified? The calculation method

Compare the monthly cost with the number of enquiries the listing generates: calls, direction requests, clicks to the site, messages, bookings. Those figures are in the listing's statistics. Example: management at €200 a month that takes calls from 40 to 70 a month costs about €6.70 per additional call; if one call in four becomes a customer worth €300 of margin, the return is immediate. The metrics to track are detailed in measuring your listing's performance and the local SEO KPIs.

Two precautions: measure before delegating (three months of statistics as a baseline) and ask for reporting that shows local pack rankings, not just the number of views.

Delegate, keep it in-house, or buy a tool

OptionCostWho for
Supplier€80 to €300 / month / listingNo time in-house, a competitive sector, several listings
In-house with training1 day of training + 2 to 4 h a monthOne listing, one available and motivated person; see training your teams on the Google listing
In-house with a tool€20 to €100 / monthSaving time on posts, reviews and tracking without delegating
Our advice: before signing, ask the supplier for two listings they have managed for more than six months and look at them as a customer would: how fresh the photos are, responses to reviews, recent posts. That tells you more than a brochure.

Frequently asked questions

Can you manage your Google listing yourself without paying?

Yes. The listing is free and its interface is simple. Allow 2 to 4 hours a month to respond to reviews, post, add photos and check the information. The cost is in time, and the main difficulty is consistency.

Why are some offers €30 a month?

Those offers are generally limited to automated posting or reselling a tool. They include neither personalised review responses, nor review collection, nor work on citations. They can suit for keeping a listing active, not for climbing the local pack.

How long before you see results?

The first effects on calls and directions appear 4 to 8 weeks after the initial optimisation. Ranking gains in the local pack against established competitors take 3 to 6 months, the time it takes for reviews and data consistency to accumulate.

Do you need a contract with a commitment?

A 3- to 6-month commitment is reasonable, long enough to measure an effect. Refuse commitments of 12 months or more with no exit clause, and insist on remaining the listing's owner: the supplier should be added as a manager, never as the primary owner.
